about
Malibu Lakeside is a very special place.

The first lots were staked and offered for sale in 1924, two years after the formation of the neighboring Malibou Lake Mountain Club.

To help draw home buyers from the Los Angeles basin and the San Fernando Valley, a community center was built in the center of the Lakeside tract with a beautiful redwood clubhouse and  swimming pool.

The community center also boasted a softball diamond, tennis court, picnic area and children's playground of which pieces remain today over 80 years later.

As early Agoura grew into Agoura Hills over the decades, Lakesiders had a far greater choice of modern recreation facilities and the Lakeside Community Center went unused by most residents.

After years of decline, the clubhouse was razed, the pool was filled in and the welcome fountain at the corner of Crags and Paiute was capped. But the strong community spirit of Lakeside remains.

The website is part of a movement to re-engage the great people of Malibu Lakeside with each other. The neighborhood old-timers (you know who you are!) will lead the way.

Let us welcome and embrace a better Lakeside.
